Happy Hanukkah 2020- COVID Edition!
In spite of COVID, we managed to have a very special Hanukkah.
As shared in the last post, we went above and beyond with oil this year by making homemade soufganiot! They were a hit! (We also enjoyed Fortinos as usual!)
We also fried up latkes and falafel! Elliot became our guide to homemade latke making, and also demonstrated the benefits of a food processor- which we are now getting- look out 2021! 😂
This year there was a song that was all the rage with the kids called 'Puppy for Hanukkah'. There is a bit where the kid is disappointed about getting socks because he wants a puppy... So we gave the kids some socks. Here they are after receiving them:
The funniest was that Yoav thought the store salesman was joking when he shared the total cost of 4 pairs of socks... Over $100! 😂 This was a fancy sock place on Locke Street. These socks were no joke!
We also shared some Hanukkah festivities with Marcie, Erin, Miriam, Eli, Torsten, Anna and Denise over Zoom.
Another tradition now is Hanukkah and especially dreidl with our friends in Niagara- Gerian, Liz, Christian, Nathan, Mateo, Sam and Ezra!
All in all, it was a great Hanukkah and a special one given the joy we had, even during a global pandemic. (Lockdown followed soon after so all of our meet ups with friends are now outside as of Dec 26!)
Happy Hanukkah 2020!
