Artistic Update and a Cold
Shalom! It's Denise, here to tell you about two artistic adventures and a cold.
First - painting. Monday was a holiday and Yoav gave me a lovely gift - watercolour paints, a pad, and some brushes. I got busy right away and created my first masterpiece - Morning Glory flowers. This picture was inspired by the Morning Glories we grew on the deck last summer. Each morning we would get up, rush out to the deck and see how many blooms had opened. It was really exciting! Morning Glories are also fun because they twist around things - Yoav put up twine, chicken wire and bicycle wheels for the plants to grow all over, and grow they did!

Second - the play. Monday evening we went to see a play called Miss Julie: Freedom Summer. It was a remake of a play written in the late 1800s which was very risky for its time. It was a social commentary on class with strong sexual themes. There were only three people in the play and the entire thing took place in a kitchen. Neither of us were too impressed with the play but it was still a great end to a long weekend.
Third - a cold. I woke up with a stuffed up nose and sore throat. I had meetings so I had to head to work and then I had my university class after but I had to leave early since I was sneezing and coughing so much. It is luckily not too serious and Yoav made spicy noodles for dinner so I am sure to be cured.
That's it for today! :)
Love,
Denise
